I am preparing for my Christmas Fair and I am super busy right now, but yesterday I invented an amazing necklace that is going to be for sale in my shop www.mandarin-duck.com

This is a necklace-transformer. You can wear it nine different ways. Here is the scheme :) I was trying to invent more ways, but could find only 9! If there is more - it will be a little extra for you if you will have this necklace ^^

WORKING HARD!

I have a big and nice project going on in all photo studio where I work and my jewellery is included in this project! So these days I am working extremely hard to make enough jewellery for 4 units in all DT studios.
I did only one and it's set up already all shimmery and shiny! Don't have any pictures yet but still have some pics of items :)

This Artwork was made as a jewellery but apeared to be a bit too big for it so I framed it and now it found it's place on one of that glass unit shelves in DT studios.

And these beauties are almost all the other jewellery that I have in that unit. Now I need to make 3 times more! :) YAY!

Room Decoration Project

Hello there my honey bunnies :)

As autumn is here - I am trying to get ready and redecorate my little studio so that it looks cosy even in cold rainy and snowy days. So this is a beginning of a project that is named - Redecorate your place with your own hands!

I will be posting new pictures as soon as new things will be ready in my studio to present to you.

So here it is now! My new updated Bonsai tree. It had a proper leafs before but then I discovered green fly on it and I tried to heal it. Green flies died, but tree started to die as well. It all ended up as a absolutely leafless tree and I was almost ready to throw it away. But then I remembered one of my own video tutorials and I updated this tree with eternal pink cherry blossom! Now it's all beautiful and will stay with me as long as I want it! No watering, no feeding :) And pretty beauty every day! :)

Hello my little sweethearts! :)
I am glad to announce that I finally have few days off and I will work on some clay models for my 2 new jewellery collections. Managed to save some moneys and buy myself a new unit so now I am all set up to start a creative year of prosperity and success ^^

First of all I want to show you my new creation I made with a help of my fellow photographers: a shot of me and mandarin duck! :) Looks so unreal, but it's a real duck! :)
Actually I am kidding, but you know.. it's my real dream to have mandarin duck once in a while in my life, in my garden! And I know it's possible.
Have a very nice, sunny and pleasant weekend and I will be concentrating on a big redecoration of my room and a big cleaning.. Uugh...

Good news!

Hey honeys!
I have some good news! I was actually working a lot all these silent month to earn some money for a new computer, because my old computer was broke and I couldn't do any editing, pictures, video's and so on.
But now, I have a nice monster on my table all ready to work for me 24/7 ^^ Isn't it lovely?
This month still will be busy for me, lots of shifts e.c.t, but I promise to make one new video (at least to film it!!!)
Also as you see I updated my blog's design ( it's gonna be the final one, cause my corporative design for Mandarin-Duck is finally ready and I am very very glad!!!)
So now everything : Youtube channel, Blog, web site have same beautiful and minimalistic black design and I am very proud of it! :)
As you also see I've made a new logo, that is much more suiting my jewellery concept now! And it looks badly amazing! :)))

Hi guys! I know! It's been a while since I posted last time.. but lots of things changed in my life ( as they always do.. I can't just live a normal life...^^)
So here is a little picture of DoubleTake Studio's new project. It's a little place where they gonna advertise in a shopping centre. And the most important part is, that one of the stands has my artwork on it :) You cant really see it.. but still.. it's the one on the right stand. Blue tones :)
I cant really post original artwork here as well, cause it's against our company rules.. But you should know, I am proud that my artwork was chosen! Yay!

Viking Jewellery Photo Shoot

Recently, about a weeks ago I've been participating in professional photo shoot.
For this photo shoot I made 3 sets of jewellery but unfortunately weather changed so cold and we managed to make some perfect pictures only with two of them. What I do?

These days I am trying to finish 2010th year with a clear mind and proper understanding of everything I wish and want to achieve next year and in further years. When you work a lot - you become a machine and dig yourself so deep in everyday routine, that forget all what you wanted in your life.
So these days I am cleaning my computer, because it is messy as messiest mess ever :)
I also read a lot of tutorials on how to make better pictures with my own camera instead of buying new one and don't know how to use it again :)
I am also thinking of better background for my jewellery. I have a dillema and maybe I will stay with two different backgrounds.
I like this one: It is nice chocolate brown linen cloth which reminds me a tropical forest when I add some ivy leafs to it. All together it looks very nice and different from others. But the problem it, that because I have that lack of sun in London - there's always not enough daylight here.

That's why I tried to use white background (white glossy plate) and as a result I got a nice picture, bright and fine, but I have a feeling now that I am loosing my identity. Because Mandarin Duck is a colourful bird, bold and original, unusual and expressive. White background makes me have that sunny and bright atmosphere which I like, but perhaps it's not for my shop??

Please help me to choose?!

I know they both look good ... Maybe I should leave brown ones as MAIN pictures in my shop and those bright ones for other 4 slots??? :)

P.S. Maybe that's even better to have a picture on dark and bright background? So that client can see how an item looks like on dark/bright dress/skin :)

Hello there my 38 readers and all the others, who is still visiting me, but don't want to follow for any reason :)
Right now I have a bit hard, but very nice times. I am working in photo studio and I retouch people's faces 4 days in a week! :) So now I have a bit less time for everything else. But I still am passionate with my jewellery, ETSY and crafts, so I am working my day job only because I want to have a day job, so I can later say on ETSY.... I QUIT MY DAY JOB.
I hope it will be not so soon, because I love it there, but still and of course I really want to live my own life and be a boss for myself! :) As jewellery and gift designer :)
What am I doing now in a moments, when I have a bit of free time - is working on ETSY FORUMS-->Critiques-->Wanna Critique? Jump in!
This is my little forum, where I am giving free advices to other fellow Etsians, helping them with having a new avatar, banner and their picture improvment.
I am so glad, that all of them come back to me next day, with improved ETSY pages and showing me their shops, as students would be showing a home task to a teacher. I really really appreciate this!!!!
And after all that gratitude I come back again and as a teacher am checking new students until 01:00AM! :D Every night! :) But it really makes me feel good! It really makes me feel myself useful and needed!
I will be working all weekends and will be free on Monday. I will start looking for a new home then :)

I feel so inspired! About 3 month I was thinking about starting work with Silver, because I really love this material, but I'm not a silversmith! I don't know HOW!
Yesterday I went to International London Jewellery excibition and there was a lots of divverent styles of silver jewellery! But most of them was classic and boring and only few stands was same style as I love.

And now I know how to make my dream come true without any special courses or something!
SILVER CLAY - works like clay - after burning with 650C temperature - becomes 999 Silver! Perfect Japanese innovation!
WOW I am so excited! Will read books, watch youtube to find out more about this material! Here are some examples what you can do with that clay!

Autumn mood

Autumn had come and I feel good. I love autumn because of all those colours and lovely rainy, but still warm weather. I really love to go to park in autumn and have fun with leaves, collect them, make interesting compositions, bouquetes.
Still this is very first days of autumn, but I can feel that mood, so I collected some Autumn ingredients, mixed it all in autumn composition. Here it is with my polymer clay pen holder in the middle:

Oh well! This is just a small stone from the park, which is painted in acrylic paints. I was collecting those stones in the park about a week because I wanted to paint something on them.
I shouldn't make them glanced! They look not so nice! Will leave others matte, if I will make others :D

We are ready for work, but there is still some laziness inside me! It feels like there's too many items, things and news around me! My computer's desctop looks like total mess! I must clean my desk, my computer, my mind to start creating again!
My muse is back, but that fact that I leashed her to a radiator doesn't change anything! She said :"While you live in mess, I cannot rule in your world of creativity!" . .. Yeah, sounds funny, as If I got an imaginary friend :D :D :D
But... to b honest, I really feel that I need to clean my surroundings from TOO MANY BEAUTIFUL THINGS!
I should make a plan of my projects for september... I should I should I should...

I hope you remember, that I was cooperating with one of the biggest clay retailers in UK - Craftmill Ltd.
So we've done 5 projects already! :) I got many nice new stuff for testing, like tools, push moulds, clays and varnishes.
Our agreement do not allow me to show you my tutorials, but you still can see the final result!

So first project was a tutorial on "How to make a bunny business card holder"

When everybody was speaking about football - I was making a key chain tutorial for UK football team!

Then we made a lovely and sweet "doughnut jewellery tutorial", which was very popular between Craftmill customers.

And 1 of 2 latest projects, which will be ready soon is Birthday Card for kids.

It's a time now in UK, when children don't go to kindergartens, so their parents should spent a lot of time with them :) Why not get crafting then?

So I think we go very creative and I will make another lovely and beautiful tutorial for September again!

I just found out, that my camera is full of pictures, where my Milo is so cute and lovely, so I realised to show you them all, because I really feel bad, that I am not putting any new creations on my blog.
I just lost my inspiring muse for a while. But I promise to get her back home and leash her at the radiator, so she could inspire me again! ^_^

My little boy loves to lay somewhere near the door, where it's warm and sun is shining on his honey back!

I am very attentive! :)

So now my life is much better and even if changes wasn't very nice in my life (moving to a house with 5 rooms and 9 people in it + dog) - my dog helps me to get through it and he really makes me smile a lot!

I am participating in Illustration Friday again. This week they have a theme: Satellite :)
I was thinking who can be a satellite? Or what? This is not only that electronical thingy in cosmos.
It can be anything :)
So I realized, that Bumble bee is a satellite of every flower and flowers are sending those signals to Satellite-bee, that it's tasty and got many honey :D So bee stays and is circling around flowers before landing, just like a satellite :)

Life in my Garden

This morning I woke up and I found this lovely flower behind my boyfriend's bicycle. It looks like tropical flower :) So nice :)

Also we have a new family arrived to our garden. Meet Forty and her 3 children :)
I shot only one of them, but he is so cute and nice. Look at his mouth. He still has pink mouth corners so his mouth can open wide to eat eat and eat again and again :) They are screaming all the time, calling their mom, while she is hunting.

I explored their life a little bit and found this picture in internet. See how small the baby is born.. That means, that mine, on photo, is already almost grown up, but still he has pink cheeks, short tail and he just learned to fly and looks like very weak still :)

I am leaving England in the 8th of July and I go to Latvia for 2 weeks to see my mum and dad!
So please don't miss me so much, I will be back with lot of news, new Pardo clays and I will be so shiny and happy :)
Also I will bring my dog to England, so I will be even more happy already in the end of July! :) My best friends - Mailo, the Jack russel Terrier will be living with me at last!!!! :)
Can't wait :) Believe me :D

Meditation and inspiration

Good day , everyone! :)
I started to read a new book about woman's aim in the World. Who we are, what is our destiny, what powerful and magical strength we are keeping in our hearts, souls, bodies. This book is written to make woman deeply understand who she really is.
On the first pages of this book I found meditation excersise and I started to excersise, so it is practice and not only reading for me.
MEDITATION:
You just have to lay down on your bed, close your eyes, relax and breath deeply, until you feel totally relaxed.
Put your left hand on your belly, so the palm is laying about 5cm(2 inch) lower, then belly button is. Probably it should just cover your womb.
Start concentration on this place. Imagine the inside of your womb as a dark and warm place, where in the middle, a small but strong light is beginning to pulse. Let this light grow and see how it becomes a beautiful white flower. It can be a rose or Orchid or everything else, what ever you like.
See how this flowwer is blossoming, how it is shining with beautiful white light. You can imagine as if you are touching it's leafs, you are smelling it's smell.
Then try to imagine, as if that beautiful white light is spreading into all of your body, making you happy and smiling. Just lay a tiny bit more like that.
Then just greet universe for being a woman, for playing that wonderful role in the World, for being happy in that moment. If you are grateful for something else, then say it. Say Thank you Mother Universe for this and that. For a happy day and for wonderful moments spent with my husband.
Then, when you will want it, you can slowly get back , open your eyes and smile.
This wonderful meditative excersise will make you feel relaxed, feel better and will calm you down, filling you with that deep understanding of being a Woman!
After that meditation I woke up and just realised to draw this picture. So it was inspired from my meditation :)

Meet the doll. Aini

There's one more thing I made last week and finished yesterday. It is little doll, named Aini.
I just wanted to make a uhman, because I made many things from clay, except people.
Of course she is not so perfect, like those OAK babies or Elfs on Etsy or somewhere else and even more she is not that beautiful as so modern in nowadays DOLLFIE dolls.
But she is the one for me. The is my companion, because most of the time, especially when I work on my projects, I am alone at home and now, for few days already she is sitting on the box near my table and watching me :) I turn my head and see her :) And I don't feel lonely or boring :) She is my muse :)
And here she is :)
I would love to change her clothes or accessories sometimes, but all I can do is stick another flower in her hands and change the pendant. maybe I can paint her jumper as well :) But this green is nice also. She is dressed simply, but looks like she feels comfortable :)

Necklace "HARMONIA"

Well... I had a lot of green clay and I wanted to make something, but didn't knew what to make :) So I realized to weave a braid and then the idea of this necklace came to me.
In my country we have "LIGO" day, where we celebrate day/night similar hours.... like sun in that day shines as much as moon is on the sky :) I know that there must be normal English word for it. :D :D

Oh well on that day we are drinking beer, eating cheese,making lot of barbeques and weaving wreaths from oak's branches, daisies and small lovely blue flowers.

The yellow circle is special cheese, which they made only for thouse 2 days in summer.

Happy drunk people sing songs all day and night through :)

Also young and strong girls and boys jump over the open fire, killing that way all bad ghosts, all fears e.c.t
Loving couples are going deep in the woods to look for fern's flower. Flower was never found, but there were many children born after that :D :D :D Every year :)

And, well, inspired by all that stuff, I made beautiful assimetrical necklace from clay. Here it is :)

I made this pendant specially for my colleague, who's name is Alana. I was inspired with her romantic look :)
She is so small, that the pendant appears to be too big for her body, but still I got few views and useful business suggestions from other people from my work. And they all loved my stuff :) I am happy :)

Well... Yesterday I got a letter on Facebook, where a lady, named Karen Woolton, said that she loves my style, my art and what I do and she put some info about me on her website to promote me there.
She found out some info about me, collected best pictures and put that all on her website :)
I didn't knew her, I didn't ask for this help, but I am so much glad, that people are doing this to help me! This is really something worth to work for in future! I mean that moments make me believe more in my success :)

This week I was thinking about my life and everything I do...
Sometimes I feel so happy and positive, but sometimes, when something goes wrong - I am really sad. But have you ever thought, that bad days are also a part of your life... of your way to success. Days should be different, so you can always feel that difference and compare. Otherwise you would blow out from happiness or would stop feeling it at all.
I red many different books and watched so many interesting movies, as well as red so many stories of succesful people on blogs and ETSY, about their way of becoming famous.

And now I've decided! Listen to every next word very attentively!
Somewhere in future (maybe even very soon) you and I will become successful and popular.
And now, when we made our minds to KNOW IT FOR SURE, we can enjoy the WAY to success. Like... as if you know, that it will happen for sure. There is no doubt!

Can you remember any moment in your life, when you knew, that you dream will come true, because for example you already booked a tickets to a plain (to Egipt) and you will finally have that trip or you already payed for your new car ( and there are two -three many days to wait for it). There are so many situations like that in everyone's life to remember.
Remeber this feeling, when you know, that this dream is already on your palm. And you are enjoying this process of waiting for it with all your body and soul!
So why it should be different to the most important and unbelivable dreams, like BECOMING FAMOUS, BEING RICH e.c.t. Because this is so different to achieve? I don't believe it.. No!

So untill it will happen - just do your job, do something what you like, do that something, that you think will make you happy and famous and it will lead you to those "waterfalls of happiness".

When you are waiting for success - enjoy this process. Do your best in enjoying!
And be grateful for every step, because it makes you closer to your dream!
When you feel that moment of happiness - just say "Thank you ,God for... ", for making me feel so good.
Being grateful is very important!

I believe, that everyone of us can be happy. But we all have different needs and different happiness levels. So there's always enough for everyone thanks to this difference.

Now I live here in UK and I have this possibility to prove myself, that this is true! I've started from totally Zero! And my seeds are starting to pop out from the ground!

Today is my 3rd training day in a luxury photo agency as creative retoucher and designer. I am training right now and achieving good results! :)Trying to be as concentrated as I only can.. I've learned so much already and I will learn even more for today! :)
This is why I am not publishing all the photos of my earrings and pendants, as I promised, because I am a little bit busy!
Actually I would like to know how can I save more time and money! :)

My first Fair!

Well well well.. what do we have here..
Actually yep, I was on a craft fair in Ealing Broadway ( West London) and it was a nice first time experience in working as a seller of craft fairs.
I got this invitation from Becky, the young girl, interesting and enthusiastic person, who was organizing a fair for the first time in her life. Actually of course there was some mistakes, bad lighting, bad advertising, wrong place ( a bit far away from the real Ealing centre)... But still.. you know, I think that it should be absolutely different situation, if it was sunny and hot, not windy and cold, like today! :) So this is so simple.. There wasn't too many people outside! But how could she know that? :) Even synoptic sometimes make mistakes :D
For the first time experience she made almost her best! :) If you don't make mistakes - you don't have progress! :)

Anyway I can count at least 10 positive moments:

1) I was happy to meet my friends, which were invited to this fair, too ( by me ^_^)
2) I was working so hard before this fair, that I got 70 pairs of earrings, 40 different pendants e.c.t
3) This means that I am selling all my stuff with 50% discount! Can you imagine??? ( I will tell more later)
4) I met one interesting Bangladesh girl, named Mahzabin :) She is so nice and interesting person(makes henna Tattoos) and she gave me some information about next fairs e.c.t. We'll stay connected. I need people like she to be my friends, because here in London I feel lack of real good people in my surrounding :)
5) I know now, that it is better to not put the prices, when you sale something :) Let customers get interested or perhaps fall in love with your item and then call the price, according to their reaction :)
6) I am well prepared now, because I have a good setting-up complect for my stall next time. Nice big light blue cloth and a black stand for my earrings.
7) I got one order for a feather earrings :)
8) I got some new contacts, business cards and phone numbers
9) I feel like at least one day in my life wasn't wasted! It was a good good practice!
10) I feel more educated now! :)

Denise from etincelledesign is setting up :) Her items are unique and very natural. She is working with silver, cooper and stones and also making leather design wallets. She is keeping up to her unique style and is not such Crazy-Eclectic person, as I am :) Miss Everchanging-mood ^_^.. Yap, but it's just me...

Here comes Margaret from MoMoJewellery. Her jewellery is absolutely exciting! I love them all, because they are classic, but still very cute. Not too simple and not too complicated and still original and all from natural sterling silver and stones. I could never create something like that. I would not have enough patience :)

Ough! This is so stupid, I forgot her name! :) But I'll never forget the name of her shop and her items! They are talking about her! :) She is so cute, as cute as her little pouches, buttons and wallets! All is so colourful and nice :) Meet peppermintdesigns

Oh well here we are(Me, Denise, Margaret)... 3 hunters waiting for the hunting rabbit - client :)

I woke up at the morning two days ago, and I was thinking about the idea for the new collection of jewellery. I was deeply tired of making jewellery from settings and beads. I wanted it in clay. Definitely! And then my boyfriend, David, told me, that he saw nice earrings, while choosing a charachter for his new computer game. Hello there! My big friend arrived today to London for 3 days, so I am so happy and until Sunday I will be with her :)
Today, while waiting for here to arrive - I was walking near some kind of a church in Gothic style and suddenly I saw so beautiful crocuses, that I could not stay and just watch - I started to make photographies. And here what I created :)
